They are made of bundles of collagen fibers that make them very strong..
They are vital to the human body for all our daily activities by stabilizing joints along with ligaments.
But tendons are vulnerable.
WEAKENING OF TENDONS
Tendons can weaken, especially in the following cases :
after a repetitive physical effort
physical activity that is too intense and too long without proper training
(for example: an untrained person suddenly taking up sport is more easily injured)
poor posture
taking certain medication
(antibiotics, especially fluoroquinolones, statins, etc.)
poor diet
dehydration
stress
wearing shoes that are too flat…
